Everything you need to know about installing, configuring, and using the AI Content Generator plugin

System Requirements

Before installing the AI Content Generator plugin, make sure your WordPress site meets the following requirements:

  • WordPress Version: 5.6 or higher
  • PHP Version: 7.4 or higher
  • Memory Limit: 128MB or higher
  • Max Execution Time: 60 seconds or higher
  • OpenAI API Key: Required for content generation

Note: The plugin includes a System Requirements page in the WordPress admin that will check if your server meets these requirements and provide guidance if any issues are found.

Installation

There are two ways to install the AI Content Generator plugin:

Method 1: Install from WordPress.org (Free Version)

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  3. In the search field, type "AI Content Generator".
  4. Look for the plugin by Kreative Stack Team and click Install Now.
  5. After installation is complete, click Activate.

Method 2: Manual Installation (Free or Pro Version)

  1. Download the plugin ZIP file:
  2. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  3. Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  4. Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the page.
  5. Click Choose File, select the ZIP file you downloaded, and click Install Now.
  6. After installation is complete, click Activate Plugin.

Important: If you're installing the Pro version and already have the free version installed, the plugin will automatically deactivate the free version to prevent conflicts.

Activation

After installation, you need to activate and configure the plugin:

Free Version

  1. After installation, the plugin will be automatically activated.
  2. Navigate to AI Content Generator > Settings in your WordPress admin menu.
  3. Enter your OpenAI API key in the designated field.
  4. Configure other basic settings as needed.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Pro Version

  1. After installation, the plugin will be automatically activated.
  2. Navigate to AI Content Generator > Settings in your WordPress admin menu.
  3. Enter your license key in the "License" tab.
  4. Click Activate License.
  5. Enter your OpenAI API key in the "API Settings" tab.
  6. Configure other settings as needed.
  7. Click Save Changes.

Note: You can obtain an OpenAI API key by signing up at OpenAI's platform.

Configuration

Configure the plugin settings to customize how content is generated:

General Settings

  • Default Language: Choose the primary language for generated content.
  • Default Tone: Set the tone of voice for generated content (Professional, Casual, Friendly, etc.).
  • Default Word Count: Set the default length for generated articles.
  • Auto-Generate Featured Image: Enable/disable automatic featured image generation.
  • Auto-Generate Body Images: Enable/disable automatic body image generation (Pro only).
  • Number of Body Images: Set the default number of images to include in the content (Pro only).

API Settings

  • OpenAI API Key: Enter your OpenAI API key.
  • AI Model: Select which OpenAI model to use for content generation.
  • Temperature: Adjust the creativity level of the AI (higher values = more creative but potentially less accurate).
  • Max Tokens: Set the maximum length of generated content in tokens.

Advanced Settings (Pro Only)

  • Reference URL Research: Enable/disable automatic research using reference URLs.
  • Content Structure: Customize the default structure of generated articles.
  • SEO Optimization: Enable/disable automatic SEO optimization for generated content.
  • White Label: Remove plugin branding for client sites.

Generating Content

Once configured, you can start generating content:

Single Post Generation

  1. Navigate to AI Content Generator > Generate Content in your WordPress admin menu.
  2. Enter a topic or title for your content.
  3. Select a category and adjust other options as needed.
  4. Click Generate Content.
  5. Review the generated content in the preview.
  6. Make any desired edits.
  7. Click Publish or Save as Draft.

Scheduled Content Generation (Pro Only)

  1. Navigate to AI Content Generator > Schedule in your WordPress admin menu.
  2. Click Add New Schedule.
  3. Configure the schedule settings:
    • Frequency (daily, weekly, monthly)
    • Topics or keywords
    • Categories
    • Content options
  4. Click Save Schedule.
  5. The plugin will automatically generate and publish content according to your schedule.

Upgrading to Pro

Upgrade to the Pro version to unlock additional features:

  1. Purchase the Pro version from our website.
  2. Download the Pro version ZIP file from your account.
  3. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  4. Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  5. Click the Upload Plugin button.
  6. Choose the Pro version ZIP file and click Install Now.
  7. After installation, click Activate Plugin.
  8. The Pro version will automatically deactivate the free version to prevent conflicts.
  9. Navigate to AI Content Generator > Settings > License.
  10. Enter your license key and click Activate License.

Note: Your Pro license key is valid for one website. If you need to use the plugin on multiple sites, consider the Premium plan (coming soon).

Troubleshooting

Common issues and their solutions:

Plugin Activation Error

If you encounter an error during plugin activation:

  • Check if your server meets the system requirements.
  • Navigate to AI Content Generator > System Requirements to see if any issues are detected.
  • Deactivate all other plugins temporarily to check for conflicts.
  • Try reinstalling the plugin.

Content Generation Timeout

If content generation times out:

  • Increase your server's max execution time (contact your hosting provider).
  • Reduce the word count for generated content.
  • Check your OpenAI API key and usage limits.

Free Version Not Deactivating

If the free version doesn't automatically deactivate when installing Pro:

  • Manually deactivate the free version before activating the Pro version.
  • Navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins.
  • Find "AI Content Generator (Free)" and click "Deactivate".
  • Then activate the Pro version.
